Low-Calorie Chicken Sausage
Calories, 173 Per Serving
• 1 Pound Lean Ground Chicken
• 1 Small Onion, Very Finely Diced
• 1 Teaspoon Fennel Seed, Toasted
• 1 Teaspoon Allspice
• 1 Teaspoon Paprika
• Sea Salt and Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
• Butter Flavor Nonstick Cooking Spray
Directions:
Step 1: Place a pan on medium heat and toast the fennel seeds in a dry pan until you smell their aroma. Remove from heat and set aside. Place the chicken and all of the ingredients except for the cooking spray in a large bowl and mix to thoroughly combine. Form the chicken into 12 patties.
Step 2: Place a large nonstick pan on medium high heat and spray liberally with cooking spray when hot. Place the patties in the pan and cook on one side for 3-4 minutes. Spray the top of the patties with cooking spray and flip for another 3-4 minutes. Enjoy!
Note –
Serving Size is 4 patties. Each patty is 43 calories, so you can incorporate this ingredient in other dishes as you wish.
You can add finely diced green apple to this mixture for a little tartness and sweetness as well.
This is a great side to go alongside eggs in the morning, or to put in an egg breakfast wrap. If you do not form into patties, you can cook the ground chicken mixture and use the crumbled sausage in pasta sauces, soups, gravy, as pizza toppings and in sandwiches.
